- Methadone is a long-acting medication that helps prevent withdrawal and reduce cravings, allowing patients to feel stable and focus on recovery
- Kadian is a slow-release form of morphine used in a similar fashion to methadone, thus reducing the harms of street opioids and supporting stability.
- Suboxone combines buprenorphine and naloxone to ease withdrawal, curb cravings, and block the euphoria of opioids. It protects against overdose, has a lower risk of drug interactions and side effects than other options, and offers flexibility in the form of a long-acting injection, sublocade.
- Sublocade is a once-monthly injection of buprenorphine that provides consistent relief from cravings without the need for pharmacy visits.
